A city may undergo several changes in time. Norman, on the other hand, is experiencing an entirely new kind of transformation. As the area continues to grow, so does the rise in traffic. Two major construction projects are currently underway that will greatly impact congestion along west Lindsey Street.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has contracted a multi-phase project widening Interstate 35, reconstructing interchanges along Lindsey Street and Highway 9 East, along with improving drainage and streetscape.
In addition to ODOT’s huge project, the City of Norman will be implementing the Lindsey Street Bond project, which extends Interstate 35 to the University of Oklahoma campus. This will also help ease traffic patterns along 24th Avenue and Berry Road. Something else to look forward to is the improvement in utilities, accessibility like bicycle lanes and sheltered bus stops, and beautification along medians and properties.
We don’t know about you, but we’re pretty ecstatic about the amazing things happening here in Norman. If you’d like to learn more about the ODOT project or the Lindsey Street Bond project, click here for more details.
