Welcome Andy Rieger!

We welcomed our newest team member earlier this month and we anticipate he will provide a world of experience for our Oklahoma residents.

Andy Rieger's journalism career took off at age 12, folding and bagging The Norman Transcript newspapers. He later worked on the copy desk of The Daily Oklahoman and Oklahoma City Times. In 1985, he left The Oklahoman and Times to start a weekly newspaper in Noble and attend graduate school at OU.

After Andy's success as an OU adjunct instructor, he was offered a faculty advisor position on The Oklahoma Daily newspaper. After five years of serving two roles, he finished graduate school and became the managing editor at The Transcript in 1995.

Andy and his wife, Karen, an attorney whose practice is focused on health care, have three children and one grandchild. For several years, he has been involved first as an advisory council member and now a consultant to the Ethics and Excellence in Journalism Foundation. He has also served as chair of the United Way of Norman, president of the Rotary Club, the Norman Business Association, and the Norman Chamber of Commerce.

Andy retired from The Transcript in 2015 but continues to teach a senior-level reporting course at OU along with writing a personal column each Sunday in The Transcript.

Our team is looking forward to the expertise Andy Rieger brings to our team, and the success he has in store for our clients!
