Community is defined as a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common. Those who live in Norman know that community is so much more than that simple definition.
The Fall season in Norman provides so many opportunities for people to come together enjoy each other at a variety of events. Rallying around our favorite college football team as they fight to win the national title is one for.
There's attending Groovefest, the oldest human rights music festival in the world. Downtown Norman provides 2nd Friday Art Walk every month and in October, is also the fall festival that yielded more than 10,000 people in attendance.
For us, community is about celebrating art and music and culture as well as celebrating each others company. It’s about going to any Friday night high school football game and cheering on our kiddos during frigid, windy Friday nights.
For us, community is so much more than a mere definition; It’s how we live. The people in this town have always strived to come together, to celebrate the history of what used to be, and to celebrate what is to come.
