In case you weren't aware, June marks National Homeownership Month. National Homeownership Month was established in 2003 by President George W. Bush as a way to promote homeownership for every American.
The idea was that homeownership was more than just a symbol of the American dream; it was a way of life.
Many housing institutions including the Department of Housing and Urban Development worked to provide tools and resources for would-be homeowners. Financial assistance was also provided through the American Dream Down Payment Fund.
Additionally, the Federal Housing Administration assisted families in shopping for better mortgage rates. Homeownership provides a pathway to pride and prosperity to families so join us in celebrating National Homeownership Month for those who continue to strive to have a piece of the American dream.
