3. Lake Thunderbird

One of the best things about summer is spending time by the lake. Whether you’re an avid hiker or taking part in water sports, Lake Thunderbird is the place to be. Recreational activities offered include boating, swimming, fishing, hiking and cycling. And if you’re a mountain biker, don’t be fooled by Oklahoma’s terrain. You’ll find plenty of jumps and twists along Clear Bay Trails.

If you’re a wildlife enthusiast, the Discovery Cove Nature Center features a ton of displays, aquariums and environmental education classes. Likewise, if you’re a bit of a “fish” yourself, the Calypso Cove Marina is located just on the south end of the lake – complete with kayaks, paddleboat rents and a ship store.
